 Meet Tribler: Making A New Global 'Currency' Out Of Bandwidth
I thought this was fitting for our purposes -- and in the same vein as some of my recent posts about the nature of money and alternative currencies.

What is Tribler?
Tribler is a social community that facilitates filesharing through a so called peer-to-peer (p2p) network. A p2p network is structural different to a server-computer structure, where every user downloads its files from one central server. Within p2p the user/downloader becomes also an uploader to the next user. In this way there is no central computer that provides every file to all users.

Pretty cool! That reminds me of the other, big, decentralizing technology just around the corner: MESH networking.

Here's a good little article about Tribler from New Scientist Tech.

 Secrets of success in 8 words, 3 minutes
From Richard St. John at a TED Conference 2005:

Why do people succeed? Because they're smart? Or lucky? How about: Neither. Richard St. John compacts more than a decade of research into an unmissable 3-minute slideshow on the real secrets of success. (Hint: Passion, persistence, and pushy mothers help.) Inspired by a chance encounter with a high school student who asked him how to become a success, St. John interviewed more than 500 successful people, then distilled what they told him into eight simple principles.

 The Rise Of The 'Providual'
I've "coined" a new word/term: Providual

Words like "citizen", "subject" or even "human", are all remnants of the Anticivilization.

Providual is a synthesis of the words "Procivilization and "Individual".

Once you realise you are an Individual, and ideally a Sovereign Individual, then all that remains is for you to deconstruct the Anticivilization -- ontologically, psychologically, emotionally -- and "see" the Procivilization with yourself as the "controlling fixed center".

 Instead of Thanksgiving, make it 'Thanks Living'...
I quite like this, so I thought I'd re-post here:

Holiday Lessons to Live By...
James Ray International

You may be aware that while I was growing up, my father was a Protestant minister. For years, I attended service three times per week and, like most kids, often just wanted it to "hurry up and get over with."

However, with my current understanding of the mind, I now know that while I sat in service and doodled, fidgeted or pestered my little brother, my unconscious mind was wide open and received many great teachings and truths.

One of those teachings came back to me in my meditation this morning, and I thought it was very appropriate for this week.

I remember my father saying almost yearly from his pulpit, "We need to not only practice Thanksgiving but 'Thanks Living'."

It's definitely no accident that a major portion of my teaching in The Secret is centered on gratitude. Likewise, I devoted an entire chapter to this technology (and I use that term intentionally) in my book The Science of Success.

While some who don't understand the power of energy, vibration and attraction may think that gratitude is not a big deal, I can promise you that:
Gratitude is the mother of creative vibrations.

You see, when you're grateful for what you currently have in your life, it focuses you on the best. And that puts you in a vibration (feeling) to attract and receive more of the best.

When you have a lack of gratitude in your life, you're focusing on the worst, and that puts you in a vibrational feeling that attracts to you more of the worst.
Life is a self-fulfilling prophecy and YOU are the prophet.

Now as you stop and think about this, it's very practical.

Think about the person who's constantly ungrateful and full of complaints and problems. Do you want to be around them... much less help them? Probably not.

Conversely, think of someone you know who's constantly grateful and appreciative in life. Same question: Do you want to be around them? Would you like to help this person if possible? Probably so.
The universe and all its inhabitants line up in support of the person who's in a vibration of gratitude.

Here's my recommendation as you move into the Holidays this year: Make the theme of the Holiday Season "giving thanks."

While eating turkey and watching football may be the norm around your household, sit down for a least a few minutes and have each family member (including you) list out loud at least 3 things that you're grateful for.

You'll be amazed at how positively this affects the energy in your household. Who knows... you may find it addictive, and you'll find yourself one step closer to "Thanks Living."

Thanks, Dad.

 The Structural Elements of The Uni-v.e.r.s.e/Procivilization
Chart #1 Lists the Structural Axioms and Laws abided by The Uni-v.e.r.s.e./Procivilization

Chart #1
Axiom

#1. Structure is formed by relationships among
elements. [The Procivilization exists as a relative interaction of conscious beings?]

#2. Structural relationships create tendencies for
behavior.

#3. The basic unit of structure is the tension-
resolution system.

#4. Tension is produced by the discrepancy
between two elements that are structurally
connected.

#5 Once a tension exists, it generates a
tendency to move toward resolution.

#6 Structural conflict exists when two tension-
resolution systems within the same structure
have points of resolution that are mutually
exclusive.

#7 Structural conflicts produce oscillating
behavior.

#8 Movement in one direction of a structural
conflict will precipitate compensating
movement in the other direction.

#9 Structure seeks equilibrium.

#10a In an oscillating structure, the fulfillment
of a desire produces a high state of non-
equilibrium.

#10b In a resolving structure, the fulfillment of a
desire produces a state of equilibrium.

Law

#1. Organizations either oscillate or advance.

#2. In organizations that oscillate, success is
neutralized. In organizations that advance,
success succeeds.

#3. When structural conflicts dominate an
organization, oscillation will result.

#4. An inadequate organizational structure
cannot be fixed. But you can move from
an inadequate structure to a suitable structure.

#5. When structural tension dominates an
organization, the organization will advance.

#6. If the organization’s structure remains
unchanged, the organization’s behavior will
revert to its previous behavior.

#7. A change of structure leads to a change of
the organizations behavior.

#8. The values that dominate an organization
will displace other competing, lesser values.

#9. When a senior organizing principle is absent, the organization will oscillate.

We are actively seeking the integration and deployment of these Axioms and Laws into our online community. Eventually, hopefully, they will be recognised and embedded throughout the World constituting a Procivilization.

 Welcome!
Here's my first blog post! Thanks for visiting and I hope to provide an attractor (perhaps a very 'strange' one :o) for your regular return. Please see the RSS feed to the left for use in your news aggregator.

What I hope to accomplish with this blog is a dual-extension of my insideUniverse profile along with 'out-loud'-type thinking on The Uni-v.e.r.s.e. and the Procivilization Project.

I've configured 12 other categories (in addition to this 'Article' and a 'Projects' category) for this blog that are based on the 12 Principles of Collaboration/Civilization as found at the Mongoose website. They are as follows (in order of importance):

* Purpose
* Identity
* Reputation
* Governance
* Communication
* Groups
* Environment
* Boundaries
* Trust
* Exchange
* Expression
* History

My reason for using these particular category/principles is to hopefully show how I see the Procivilization actually manifesting here on Earth, and in my (probably extended) lifetime.

I've had a lot of fun up until now just reading great books, and travelling, and experiencing transformative courses and events etc... and now I feel like becoming much more -- proactive.

So I'll continue to lay out some more background information explaining how I got this far, in forthcoming articles, and then I'll cover, as succinctly as possible, each principle as I see it pertaining to "our" creation of a Procivilization.
